The Woman In My Wallet
A Women’s Day campaign for Zouk built around a simple creative challenge: how do you make an advertisement for a men’s wallet without making it about the man? My answer was The Woman in My Wallet, a film that celebrates the person who matters most to me rather than the product itself.
Instead of carrying a photograph, my wallet holds a Queen of Hearts card featuring a custom illustration inspired by Ponyo that was created for my wife and me. That card became the emotional anchor for a story about our long-distance marriage between India and the United States, following our reunion after months apart and celebrating her journey as a PhD researcher. Through match cuts, travel sequences, and intimate observational moments, the film became a tribute to her resilience and ambition, allowing the wallet to feel like a meaningful part of the story rather than the reason for it.
